I was inspired by a recent movie, Living, that I recently watched.

I drew a lot of inspiration from recently watching the movie Living, starring British actor Bill Nighy. It was quite thought provoking and was the final straw in my decision-making to stand for Council elections.

This movie delivered a poignant and reflective message about the value of life and the importance of making meaningful use of the time and skills we have for the benefit of others. The film is a remake of Akira Kurosawa’s 1952 Japanese classic Ikiru, and it focuses on the life of Mr. Williams, a Local Council bureaucrat in 1950s London. the movie suggests that even the simplest efforts to improve the world around us can create a legacy that outlives us.

The central message of the movie revolves around the idea that life, no matter how mundane or routine it might seem, holds the potential for profound change and fulfillment if one chooses to seize it.

In essence, Living urges viewers to reflect on their own lives, encouraging them to break free from complacency and to pursue actions that bring genuine satisfaction and benefit to others. It’s a call to embrace the present and to live with intention and purpose, making the most of the time we are given.
